Morality, a scale defined by what is thought to be right versus wrong, is subjective to each person. However, due to its subjectivity, a person’s morality can be easily swayed by their environment, especially by the morality of other people. To pinpoint the degree to which someone’s environment can affect their own moral choices, our research game Trial of Souls presents players with various ethical situations that
require choices based on their morality in the face of encouraging or discouraging NPC interactions. So we ask: what is the influence of moral decision-making based
on diegetic character reactions that affect player behavior in video games
